Honestly, we do not have many leaders coming to us and saying, “I am a heart-based leader,” but I imagine the day when that is how all leaders identify themselves.
You are a heart-based leader if you care - about your people, your stakeholders, the planet, and/or you care about being profitable - they are not mutually exclusive! Often we hear from leaders who want their companies to mean something more than just a place to work. The reality is that if you have a heart, then you really have all you need to lead genuinely.
Ha, there is definitely a connection to nature, space, and how we as businesses and leaders can learn from and in these settings. While most of our work takes place in offices, we try to bring nature in when we are able. We do offer leadership retreats that will always be connected with Adventure, along with Wisdom, Ritual, and Connection.
If you asked your team why their work matters, what would they say? This is important because most people are motivated when they feel valued, can create impact, and are part of something bigger than themselves. Just Google it. It's easy to do the research, but the real value comes in creating organizational clarity with purpose as a True North. When you combine purpose with the Organizational Clarity Framework, then start to reduce waste & rework and align a team that believes in the difference you are making in the world. .. and if that is not enough, most Purpose Driven companies outperform those that are not.
Great question because that is where the long hard road of being Purpose Driven Starts. Once you articulate your purpose, mission, vision, values, and behaviors, it creates your framework or operating system for how you do everything from hiring to marketing. It changes everything, but you have to operationalize it throughout your entire organization.
Yes, Intrepic Journey runs on an organizational clarity structure as well. Our Purpose is to catalyze peace & love in the world through leadership! You won't find it anywhere else on the website because a purpose is to be lived, experienced, and used internally as a navigating tool. At this time, we fulfill our purpose through Organizational Clarity work, Conscious Leadership work, and Unlocking Collective Wisdom through event design facilitation, but any of those can change as a strategy to fulfill the purpose in a different way. The purpose remains, but the business will change and evolve.
